Stephan Jaeger played his way into the record books Thursday at the Ellie Mae Classic, shooting the first round of 58 on any major U.S. golf tour.
Playing on the Web.com Tour, Jaeger had 12 birdies and six pars at TPC Stonebrae in the Bay Area to make history.

Jaeger, 27, turned pro in 2012 and, according to his PGA Tour profile, would "like to trade places with Jack Nicklaus for a day," but the "Golden Bear" might wish to spend time in the German-born player's shoes.
