‘We expect…’: Ornstein issues brand new Gyokeres and Osimhen to Utd verdict amid ‘unpredictable’ expectation

Despite shelling out over £100 million on two forwards in the last two summers, Manchester United will again be on the market for a new No.9 when the window opens.

Indeed, it’s safe to say Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee haven’t had the desired effect supporters had initially hoped, although the latter’s silky style of play has seen him move up in people’s estimations in recent weeks.

As for Hojlund, 22, his young age has given him some leeway when it comes to enduring substandard form. That’s not to say Ruben Amorim hasn’t been expecting more from him this season, but there’s a general acceptance that he should have been originally bought in to develop and refine his goalscoring abilities alongside a senior, more experienced strike partner.
