The Denver Broncos chose to surprise the entire NFL landscape by selecting Texas cornerback Jahdae Barron with the 20th overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft on Thursday night.
Barron was named college football's best defensive back in 2024, becoming only the third Longhorn to win the Jim Thorpe Award. Barron intercepted five passes, broke up 11 passes, made 67 tackles (46 solo, 21 assisted), added one sack and recovered a fumble in 2024. Barron's excellence netted him first-team Associated Press All-American honors.
Barron looks to slot into the Broncos' already talented secondary, joining reigning Defensive Player of the Year Pat Surtain and supporting cast of Riley Moss and Ja'Quan McMillian.
