Watch: France routs Iceland 5-2 in Euro 2016 quarterfinals

Euro 2016 host France has a high-profile semifinal date against Germany after writing the end to the tournament's Cinderella story in emphatic fashion in order to get there.

France thrashed Iceland 5-2 in their quarterfinal in Paris, with Olivier Giroud scoring twice, and Paul Pogba, Dimitri Payet and Antoine Griezmann each scoring as well for Les Bleus. France jumped out to a 4-0 lead by halftime and never was threatened, though Iceland fought to the end, getting second-half goals from Kolbeinn Sigthorsson and Birkir Bjarnason.

Iceland chose the same starting XI for the fifth straight game, while France was without the suspended Adil Rami and N'Golo Kante and gave Samuel Umtiti his first cap as a starter in central defense.
