Playing in his first-ever British Open, 28-year-old Englishman Daniel Brooks is likely to miss the cut at St. Andrews barring a phenomenal finish, but he hit arguably the best shot of the tournament Saturday. Brooks started the second round on Friday four shots over the cut line and dropped to 6-over par through 10 holes, but made a hole-in-one at the par-3 11th.
Brooks is the first golfer to make a hole-in-one at the British Open at St. Andrews since 1990, and the first in any Open since 2012.
Daniel Brooks: Hole in one on 11 1st hole in one at The Open since Anirban Lahiri in 2012 (9th hole at Lytham)
