It wouldn't be an Iron Bowl if "Broadway Joe" Namath didn't stop by for a little chat with the CBS Sports broadcast booth of Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson.
Namath, who played in 30 games at Alabama from 1962-64 and later won a Super Bowl with the New York Jets, stopped by in his signature fur coat during the first half of Alabama's game against Auburn. It was a surprise visit because, well, nothing about Namath is ever planned.
"You next time this year, we can break curfew," Namath said, noting this is Lundquist's last year in the CBS booth.
