Usain Bolt claimed the gold medal at the 2015 IAAF World Championships 100m race in Beijing on Sunday, snapping Justin Gatlin’s 28-race win streak.
Gaitlin was leading the race going into the final stretch but broke down, allowing Bolt to overtake him at the last moment, eventually winning the race by o.o1 seconds. Bolt has been struggling with injuries for most of the season, but told the BBC after the race that this victory could provide a welcome shift in momentum:
“This win means a lot because I’ve been struggling all season and I was having problems with my start.
