Washington University in St. Louis has indefinitely suspended the men's soccer team for making sexually inappropriate comments, along with displaying other misogynistic behavior, toward the women's soccer team, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.
Members of the women's team shared the allegations with university administrators Wednesday.
A university provost said the comments, including those in a 2015 document, were “degrading and sexually explicit” and that the allegations “suggest an unacceptable culture.”
“Let me be clear: There is absolutely no place at Washington University for sexism, discrimination or harassment of any kind,” Lori White, vice chancellor for student affairs, said in a statement.
