HARRISON, N.J. — Abby Wambach issued a stern warning to her United States teammates that they risk an embarrassing early exit in the Women's World Cup if they enter the tournament with a sense of "fear."
Wambach, USA's all-time leading international goal scorer with 182, spoke out after the team's 0-0 tie Saturday against South Korea in its final warm-up game before heading to Canada, where the World Cup kicks off next weekend.
"We need to be a team that has no fear," Wambach said. "We need to go out there and fly at other teams — that's a team that I think is unbeatable.
