Wait, what if Tim Tebow really has a future in baseball?

When news broke that Tim Tebow, erstwhile NFL quarterback and full-time page view driver, wanted to play Major League baseball, I was naturally cynical.

The former Heismann winner, after all, is 29 years old. He hasn’t played competitive baseball since 2005, when he has in high school. The story was first reported ( and has been endlessly promoted by ) ESPN, which just happens to be Tebow’s employer.

In short, the whole thing feels like a dog-and-pony show meant to keep St. Tim in the spotlight. So what if 20 major league teams are planning to attend his workout next week in Los Angeles?
