After more than 50 years in Mankato, the Minnesota Vikings are moving out.
The Vikings announced Tuesday that this year’s training camp at Minnesota State University, Mankato will be their last, before the team moves the event to a new practice facility in Eagan next summer.
This year’s event runs from July 24-Aug. 7.
“Over the past 52 years we have formed incredible relationships with Minnesota State University, Mankato, the city of Mankato, and the entire community, and those partnerships made this decision difficult,” Vikings COO Kevin Warren said in a statement.
The Vikings have conducted training camp in Mankato since 1966, but the move wasn’t unexpected.
