Vikings lose two more veteran QBs to other teams in free agency

While the Minnesota Vikings are ready to move forward with J.J. McCarthy as their starting quarterback in 2025, his backup remains in question. The only other quarterback on the roster is Brett Rypien, a journeyman who entered the league in 2019.

Last month, it was reported the Vikings tried bringing Daniel Jones back, giving him a competitive offer. But he signed with the Indianapolis Colts to battle for their starting spot with Anthony Richardson.

That meant the Vikings would have to look outside the organization for their QB2. However, their list continues to shrink as two more prominent quarterbacks signed deals with other teams.
