Darren Waller has opened up about his decision to retire from the NFL after nine seasons.
Speaking to TMZ Sports (starts at 1:05 mark), Waller explained he "reached a point where I don't have that 100 percent to give to the process" that is required to play in the league.
In a YouTube video released on Sunday announcing his retirement (starts at 3:15 mark), Waller said he experienced a "very scary" health situation last November that gave him clarity on his life.
Another topic that Waller addressed in the TMZ interview was "a lot of the work I'm doing right now" to redefine what love and relationships mean to him in the wake of his divorce from WNBA star Kelsey Plum (starts at 9:15 mark).
