The official period of NFL free agency ended May 10. Teams now either have to tender their unsigned free agents an offer, which in practice never happens, or lose any rights to compensation for the players in the compensatory draft system.

In essence, this is the start of a mini free-agency period. Teams cautious about losing compensatory draft picks will entertain the thought of signing those players who fell through the cracks in March and April.
