Vanderbilt earns potential season-saving win against Kentucky

This is the time of year when college basketball bubble teams need one signature win that separates themselves in the eyes of the NCAA Tournament selection committee. Well, the Vanderbilt Commodores did just that Saturday when they upset No. 16 Kentucky, 74-62, at home.

According to Joe Lunardi's most recent bracketology on ESPN.com, Vanderbilt (18-11, 10-6 SEC) entered Saturday's clash as one of the last four teams in the 68-team field. But now, Vanderbilt has the signature win it needed to jump into a more secure spot heading into March.
