Joe Williams' return to the Utah football team has been the squad's saving grace.
The senior running back retired from football after Week 2's win over BYU. He was tired. His body ached. He wanted to focus on being a normal college student.
After four Utah running backs went down with injuries in quick succession this season, Williams knew he needed to return.
"I went to both home games and we were seeing how everyone was getting hurt and going down from injuries, and that really just triggered in me to (listen) when the coaches called me that Monday," Williams told Omnisport.
