USC happy to have DeCarlos Nicholson back after eventful offseason

It has certainly been an eventful offseason for USC cornerback DeCarlos Nicholson. After appearing in all 13 games for the Trojans last year as a transfer from Mississippi State, the general assumption was that he was out of eligibility. However, a court's ruling in Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia's lawsuit against the NCAA that junior college seasons do not count towards an athlete's eligibility allowed Nicholson, who started his career at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, to play one more year.

In January, Nicholson announced that he would be entering the transfer portal for his final season of eligibility.
