USC followed its big win Saturday over Washington with another one Sunday when four-star quarterback Jack Sears committed to the Trojans, 247Sports.com reported.
Sears, the No. 5 pro-style QB in the nation in the class of 2017, had been committed to Duke.
"I have the utmost respect and admiration for (Duke) coach (David) Cutcliffe, the entire coaching staff and Duke University," Sears told 247Sports. "I wish them nothing but success in the future. I am now a USC Trojan and look forward to starting classes in January."
There is some symmetry to Sears' decision to become the first QB in USC's 2017 commitments.
