The governing body for gymnastics in the United States, USA Gymnastics, said on Thursday that it would sever its ties with the Karolyi Ranch, the famed training facility that has cultivated several Olympians but was recently revealed to be a site of sexual abuse by a team doctor.
“It has been my intent to terminate this agreement since I began as president and CEO in December,” Kerry Perry, the president of the gymnastics organization, said in a statement. “We are exploring alternative sites to host training activities and camps until a permanent location is determined.”
The ranch was the site of some of the sexual abuse by Dr.
