U.S. women's national team soccer players cannot legally go on strike in the midst of their ongoing labor dispute, a federal judge ruled Friday, ending a threat that the players might boycott the Rio Olympics.
U.S. District Judge Sharon Johnson Coleman granted a partial summary judgment to the U.S. Soccer Federation that upheld a "no-strike" provision in the players' contracts.

The case was heard in Chicago, which is headquarters for U.S. Soccer. The Rio Games are scheduled to begin Aug.
