New York born and U.S youth player Matteo Ritaccio has signed his first professional contract with Liverpool, per the club's website. The 18-year-old midfielder from Long Island joined the EPL club's youth academy last year and started the season well before suffering a leg injury but he should return to action in the new year.
Ritaccio, a hard-tackling player, was first seen by Liverpool scouts as a 13-year-old during a U.S training camp. His move to Europe had no issues as he also holds an Italian passport.
He made the ranks through BW Gottschee.
