Maria Sharapova's remarkable run at the US Open is over. The controversial wild-card entry and former champion was her own worst enemy against No. 16 Anastasija Sevastova on Sunday, falling 5-7, 6-4, 6-2.
Sharapova held off three match points in the third set but couldn't stop Sevastova, who overcame a tight first set to win the final two sets to claim her second straight quarterfinal berth at the US Open.
