HOUSTON — You want North Carolina to suffer, and you want it now. Well, maybe not you, personally, but someone you know wants North Carolina to feel it. Or, at the very least, someone you’ve encountered through the realm of social media. Nothing positive happens with Tar Heels basketball without someone on Twitter taking a snarky swipe or lamenting the glacial pace of the NCAA’s examination of the university’s athletic program.
You’ve been aware for years — how many years now? Could it really be four years? — that there were practices within the academic structure at UNC that the school’s own investigators termed “aberrant” and that multiple examinations have shown ultimately benefitted a large number of the school’s intercollegiate athletes.
