UNC football quarterback Max Johnson is “grinding” and “looking forward to the season,” he wrote Thursday in a social media post.
Johnson, who sustained a season-ending leg injury in the Tar Heels’ 2024 season opener at Minnesota, released a nearly 1 ½-minute video on X (formerly known as Twitter) that documents his rehab and recovery. He had multiple surgeries to repair his right leg.
A video that starts with surgery and shows him struggling to walk, ends with him working out and throwing passes inside UNC’s practice complex.
On March 5, the second day of spring practice under head coach Bill Belichick, Johnson was stationary while throwing passes on the sideline during the 15-minute portion of practice open to media members.
