Exactly three weeks to the day after Villanova forward Kris Jenkins swished a 3-pointer to defeat North Carolina in the national championship game, another NCAA shot landed on the Tar Heels: the revised notice of allegations in the case stemming from the academic misconduct involving the school’s African and Afro-American Studies program.
We may not know exactly what to make of the case against Carolina even after it goes through a hearing with the NCAA’s infractions committee and gets a ruling sometime after that. The case is unusual and complex enough that it was challenging for the organization’s investigators to find categories of its by-laws through which to charge UNC.
