Alexander Gustafsson and Jon Jones will always be linked.
They had a fight for the ages at UFC 165 with Jones narrowly winning a unanimous decision to retain his light heavyweight title. It was the toughest fight in Jones' career and it also showed Gustafsson is a top-tier fighter.

The rematch was scheduled for UFC 178, but Gustafsson suffered an injury and had to bow out. To the chagrin of many fans, the fight hasn't been rescheduled mainly because of Jones not being able to stay out of trouble, including a DWI charge, a hit-and-run accident involving a pregnant woman, and a failed drug test before UFC 200 that forced him out of his main event fight against Daniel Cormier.
