LAS VEGAS — One of the most remarkable careers in UFC history ended on Saturday when Donald Cerrone announced his retirement after he was submitted by Jim Miller in their bout on the preliminary card of UFC 276.
The men entered the bout at T-Mobile Arena tied with heavyweight Andrei Arlovski for the most wins in UFC history with 23. Miller got the record to himself when, after both fighters landed kicks, Miller got Cerrone’s neck.
Miller quickly slapped on a guillotine and forced Cerrone to tap at 1:32 of the second. As UFC broadcaster Joe Rogan was about to interview Miller, Miller pointed out that Cerrone was taking off his gloves, a sign of retirement.
