Miesha Tate became the first women to beat Holly Holm in mixed martial arts and did so in impressive fashion, submitting the women's bantamweight champion with a guillotine choke at XYZ of the fifth round. Holm spent much of the fight warding off Tate's takedown attempts.
After a dangerous second round in which Tate nearly finished the fight, Holm responded with two strong rounds. But in the fifth round Tate took a risk going for a wild takedown attempt. She got Holm's back and put her to sleep.
