Uchenna Nwosu agrees to sizable pay cut to remain with Seahawks

Many expected the Seattle Seahawks to release EDGE Uchenna Nwosu from his contract this offseason. While over the salary cap, general manager John Schneider was certainly tempted to release Nwosu as a post-June designation and save $14.6 million against the cap. Yet his name was nowhere to be found when Seattle's first round of cuts were announced, with George Fant and Tyler Lockett being among the casualties.

Schneider remained in negotiations with Nwosu's representation. The sides agreed to delay Nwosu's roster bonus. It now appears the oft-injured pass rusher agreed to a sizable pay-cut in order to remain with the Seahawks through the 2025 campaign.
