Tyrone Prothro still remembers the name of the play that ended his playing career at Alabama and ended any chance he had at playing in the NFL.
It was “642 FN Wings, Z-bump.” The play was called on fourth down late in the game against No. 5 Florida on Oct. 1, 2005. Undefeated, 15th-ranked Alabama was leading 31-3 at the time, but then-coach Mike Shula wanted to put a final stamp on his team’s dominant home win over the Gators.
