Tyler Clary's chances of qualifying for his second consecutive Olympics have come down to one event.
Luckily for him, it's the 200-meter backstroke, an event the Michigan alum won at the 2012 London Olympics. He is the top seed in entering Thursday's prelims at the U.S. Olympic trials in Omaha, Neb.

Clary hasn't swum at 2012 levels during the trials. Despite being the top seed before prelims of the grueling 400-meter individual medley, Clary scratched from the finals on Sunday to focus on other events. Tuesday, Clary needed to finish top six in the 200-meter freestyle to make the 800-meter freestyle relay team in Rio, but he finished seventh.
