The Minnesota Twins designated left-handed reliever Craig Breslow for assignment Monday, recalling right-hander Alan Busenitz from Triple-A Rochester to replace him on the 25-man roster.
Breslow last pitched for the Twins during a marathon loss to the Detroit Tigers on Sunday.
Originally drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2002, the 36-year-old reliever has appeared in 30 games for the Twins this season, posting a 1-1 record and a 5.23 ERA in 31 innings.
Busenitz, who is in his first season with the Twins, has appeared in six games this year, working 8 2/3 innings and allowing two earned runs.
