On the Fox Sports 1 set at Great American Ball Park on Monday afternoon in Cincinnati, Frank Thomas asked Pete Rose: “Pete, do you feel like Dorothy? There’s no place like home?” Quick to take, chew and run with the bait, Rose said: “No place like home, baby. I was born three miles from here. That’s where I was born. Peter Edward Rose.”
“That’s beautiful,” said Thomas, a 2014 inductee into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Rose, of course, is ineligible for election, having been barred from baseball in 1989 for gambling on the sport.
Rose has been a story line throughout this All-Star break because he is playing multiple roles.
