Tuchel: Dortmund had to stop Bayern at all costs

Thomas Tuchel piled praise on Borussia Dortmund for its resolve to beat Bayern Munich at any cost in Saturday's Der Klassiker.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the only goal of the 1-0 result 11 minutes into the first half at Signal Iduna Park, turning home a cross from former Bayern flop Mario Gotze.

And although Tuchel's side rode its luck at times — Franck Ribery having a goal disallowed while Xabi Alonso hit the woodwork — Carlo Ancelotti's men could not find an equalizer as they succumbed to their first league defeat of the season.

Despite suffering for the result, Tuchel explained afterwards that it was exactly what he had demanded from his men and said the German champions' quality only made victory sweeter.
