PHILADELPHIA — The Texas Southern Tigers have been practicing since October, but they will not play a home game until Jan. 17. Already this season, they have won on a buzzer-beater at La Salle and suffered through a rout at Arizona.
For the second consecutive season, Texas Southern (4-4) is playing all of its nonconference games — the meat of its early season schedule — on the road. That schedule has already meant trips to Dover, Del.; Harrisonburg, Va.; and Lafayette, La. And in the next few weeks it will bring games at Louisville, Cincinnati and Louisiana State.
