For two American boys who reached junior finals at the United States Open, playing tennis was simply going into the family business.
The top seed in the boys’ singles draw, Taylor Harry Fritz, who won the final, 6-2, 6-7 (4), 6-2, over his fellow American Tommy Paul, is the son of Kathy May Fritz, a three-time Grand Slam quarterfinalist who reached the WTA top 10. Fritz became the third straight American boy to win a junior Grand Slam title, following Paul (who beat Fritz in the French Open final) and the Wimbledon champion Reilly Opelka.
