Jeff Gordon was among participants in Jan. 31's desert ride in high-powered vehicles in which Tony Stewart crashed. This week, the former NASCAR driver turned Fox Sports analyst recalled with "Smoke" the day he injured his back.
"I thought I followed in the same track as the guy in front of me," Stewart told Gordon in an interview that aired on Fox before Sunday's Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500. "I don't know if I was a little too fast, but I literally crashed at 5 mph because you didn't know when you got to the top (of the sand dune) what was on the other side so you kind of crept over it.
