Tom Wilson suspended 7 games for 'predatory' hit on Bruins' Carlo

Tom Wilson was dealt a seven-game suspension Saturday by George Parros and the NHL Department Of Player Safety, after his vicious, high hit on Brandon Carlo sent the Boston Bruins defenseman to hospital on Friday.

No penalty was called on the play, despite Carlo remaining down for several minutes and needing to be helped off the ice. Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy said after the game that Carlo was taken to hospital in an ambulance.

Carlo was thankfully released on Saturday morning but remains out indefinitely, according to Cassidy.

“He’s obviously going to be out for a while,” Cassidy said, noting Carlo was "feeling better.
