Michigan State basketball reaching the Sweet 16 has resulted in some more money in the pocket of longtime hall of fame coach Tom Izzo.
Many coaches across the country have bonuses baked into their contracts for when their team reaches the Sweet 16, and that includes Izzo. With Michigan State knocking off New Mexico on Sunday night and advancing to the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament, Izzo will now receive a $75,000 bonus this year, according to Front Office Sports.
Other coaches to receive a nice bonus due to their team's NCAA Tournament success includes Tennessee's Rick Barnes ($200,000), Houston’s Kelvin Sampson ($100,000) and Maryland's Kevin Willard ($75,000).
