Toledo defensive end Terrance Taylor has been handed a one-game suspension after his nasty targeting hit on Northern Illinois quarterback Ross Bowers, coach Jason Candle announced on Thursday.
Taylor was ejected for targeting during the third quarter of Wednesday night's game between the Rockets and Huskies. After a fake handoff, Bowers slipped while running and fell onto the turf. Bowers popped up on his knees just before Taylor came in with a brutal helmet-to-helmet hit from behind.
The hit was originally called a personal foul on the field but was changed to targeting after the play was reviewed.
