WASHINGTON — The World Series returned to Washington after an 86-year hiatus, but the city will have to wait at least another day to see its team win a home game in the Fall Classic.
In a slow, plodding affair, the Houston Astros beat the Washington Nationals,4-1, and avoid what would have been a nearly insurmountable deficit in the Series. The Nationals still hold a two-games-to-one advantage, but as the teams prepare for Game 4 on Saturday the Astros can be encouraged by one unusual trend in the 115th World Series: The visiting team has won all three games.
