Jeff Gordon is a Boy Scout, right down to the points of the Scout law. Especially this one: loyal.

No knock against Alex Bowman, the 23-year-old who will replace Dale Earnhardt Jr. this weekend at New Hampshire. But Bowman has little experience at the hallowed 2.5-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He was 40th in the 2014 race, 43rd last year.
Gordon won the first Sprint Cup race there, in 1994. He won at Indy in 2014.
