In a very noteworthy finale to the 32-man Cruiserweight classic tournament, TJ Perkins ended up as the surprise winner, defeating Gran Metalik on Wednesday in the final match.
However, that wasn't the only surprise on the night, as HHH unveiled the new WWE Cruiserweight championship belt as well and awarded it to Perkins, making him the first champion. Suspiciously, the belt was themed more closely to "Smackdown's" colors than "Raw's," so perhaps moving the division to "Raw" was not as long-term a plan as they would have us believe.
The night started with a clash of styles in the first semi-final between Metalik and submission expert Zack Sabre Jr.
