Sports endorsements have been hoooooge in Donald Trump's road to becoming the unlikely Republican nominee for president in 2016.
Bobby Knight and Lou Holtz did it , because it's just the retired old college coach thing to do. For still semi-retired college player Tim Tebow to do it, it is downright sad.
Tebow, despite his polarizing career, still had plenty of likeability as someone who could inspire beyond the realm of football for many years to come, no matter his affiliation. That's all gone out the window as he'll be headlining athlete speaking at next week's Republican National Convention in Cleveland.
