Tim Howard to miss next USMNT match with thigh injury

Veteran USA goalkeeper Tim Howard left Friday's 2-1 loss to Mexico in the 40th minute and was diagnosed Sunday with an injury to the adductor muscle in his right thigh.

The U.S. Men's National Team announced the injury in a release, saying Howard would miss USA's World Cup qualifier match against Costa Rica on Nov. 15. Howard returned to Colorado for further evaluation and to determine treatment plans.

The USMNT left the U.S. Sunday afternoon for San Jose, Costa Rica, in advance of Tuesday's match at the Estadio Nacional at 9 p.
