GREENSBORO, N.C. — Wearing a look of utter determination and grim intensity throughout his third round Saturday at the Wyndham Championship, Tiger Woods was very good.
Jason Gore was simply better.
Woods is in search of his first Tour victory since 2013 and likely needs a win to extend his season and qualify for the Fed-Ex Cup playoffs. He birdied No. 1, No. 4 and No. 16, and parred the rest before rimming the cup on his next-to-last shot of the day to finish at 2-under 68, putting him at 13 under for the tournament, tied for second with Jonas Blixt and Scott Brown.
