Tiger sees 'big strides' at Quicken Loans

GAINESVILLE, Va. — Tiger Woods had it going again in Sunday’s final round of the Quicken Loans National at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club.

Then he went backwards again.

Still, he remains as confident moving forward as he has felt all year.

“Everything is kind of trending in the correct direction now,” the tournament host said after wrapping up his week with a 3-under-par 68. Grouped with his 68-64-74 start, Woods finished at 8 under and closer to the middle of the pack instead of the top of the leaderboard. But it was just the second time this year that Woods signed for three rounds in the 60s in a tournament.
