Tiger misses cut at Open, hits another career low

ST. ANDREWS, Scotland — Tom Watson waved goodbye to the British Open on Friday, the five-time Open winner deciding this year’s championship would be his last.

Tiger Woods waved goodbye Saturday, the three-time British Open champion and 14-time major winner still searching for form that will make him competitive.

For the first time in his career as a pro, Woods missed the cut in successive majors. While he shot 80-76 at Chambers Bay to miss the weekend in the U.S. Open, he shot 76-75 to miss the cut here on the Old Course, where he won Opens in 2000 and 2005.
