GREENSBORO, N.C. – An estimated 32,000 fans were in attendance at Sedgefield Country Club Saturday afternoon for the third round of the Wyndham Championship, and it would not be an exaggeration to say that most of them were there for one reason – to watch Tiger Woods.
The excitement was palpable as fans packed the tee area and lined the fairways as Woods, who started the third round of the tournament tied for the lead with his playing partner, rookie Tom Hoge, at 11-under par, walked to the tee area. Woods’ first two rounds of 64 and 65 were his best of the season.
