New York (AFP) - Former NBA star Isiah Thomas' controversial bid to become a part owner of the Women's NBA New York Liberty has been suspended indefinitely, the club announced Monday.

Thomas, who won two NBA titles in 14 league seasons with the Detroit Pistons, was named president of the Liberty last month in a surprise New York return after a troubled tenure as an executive and coach of the New York Knicks.
